OFFICIAL COMMENCEMENT OF MARULA SEASON CELEBRATED IN THLABINE VILLAGE

The Limpopo Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture marked the beginning of the Marula season in Thlabine village, located within the Greater Tzaneen Municipality under the Mopani District, on 17 March 2024.

The "Ku Luma Vukanyi" celebration, as stated by the Head of Department for Limpopo Sport, Arts, and Culture, Mapula Ramokgopa, aims to foster social cohesion and commemorate the significance of the Marula fruit, which serves not only as a key ingredient in traditional beer but also finds application in various skincare products

The vibrant community turned out in large numbers to participate in the festivities, expressing their jubilation through songs and dances throughout the event.

Distinguished guests and stakeholders from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Mopani District, Baphalaborwa, Giyani, and Maruleng Municipalities were in attendance.

Representing the Greater Tzaneen Municipality were Cllr Renny Mabuza, Chairperson of Sport, Arts, and Culture, and Cllr Sophy Rakganya, Chairperson of Planning and Economic Development.
