Personal Life

• Councillor Sanie Tiba was born on 6 June 1955

Educational Background

• Councillor Tiba attended high school at Bokgaga High School and matriculated in 1973.
• After passing matric, Tiba enrolled for a Primary Education/Teacher Diploma at Tivumbeni College which she completed in 1979.
• Tiba later enrolled for a Secondary Education Diploma at Vista University.
• She obtained her qualification in 1998.
• In the year 2000, Cllr Tiba obtained a Further Diploma in Education from Vista University.
• In 2011, she completed a Computer Literacy Diploma from Avuxeni Computer Academy.
• Her highest qualification is an Honours Degree in Education which she secured in 2011 from the North West University.
• Cllr Tiba also boasts several certificates from various institutions.
• She has the Municipal Governance Certificate from LGSETA, Project Management, and Local Government Management.

Professional Career

• Cllr Tiba was an educator from 1979 to 2015 at Nwamitwa School.

Political Career

• Councillor Tiba is serving her fourth term. Her first stint as a Councillor was from 2000-to 2006 when she served as a ward councilor and a member of the Executive Committee (EXCO).
• She served as a ward Councillor from 2006 - to 2011. From 2016 to 2021, She served as a PR Councillor and a member of EXCO.

Leadership Roles

• Cllr Tiba served as Chairperson of the ANCWL in 1991. From 1998 to 2000 she served as an additional member of the ANC North-East Region.
• From 1998 to 2010, Cllr Tiba served as an additional member of the ANCWL North-East Region/Mopani.
• From 2000 to 2006 she served as the Chairperson of the ANCWL Karel Makwala Branch and from 2007 to 2011 she served as Secretary of the ANCWL Edward Ramaila Branch.
