OFFICIAL SOD TURNING FOR THE SERUTUTUNG TO TICKYLINE ACCESS ROAD PROJECT:

On 17 August 2026, the Mayor of Greater Tzaneen Municipality paid a courtesy visit to the Bakgakga Ba Maake Tribal Authority before proceeding to the official sod-turning ceremony for the Serututung to Tickyline Access Road Project from gravel to paving.
The project will see approximately 4 kilometres of the Serututung to Tickyline Access Road upgraded from gravel to 80mm interlocking paving. Construction is set to commence immediately, with completion expected in August 2028. The project will create valuable employment opportunities for 55 local residents, including 33 women, 30 youth and 2 persons with disabilities.
Once completed, the upgraded road will improve connectivity and provide safer, more reliable access to key community facilities, including schools , and the main road.
