MAYOR GERSON MOLAPISANE RECEIVES A DONATION OF 235 PAIRS OF SCHOOL SHOES TO BOLSTER HIS CHARITY DRIVE
Tzaneen, 18 September 2024 – Today, Mayor Gerson Molapisane proudly accepted a generous donation of 235 pairs of school shoes from IX Engineers, as part of his ongoing efforts to support underprivileged learners in the municipality. The donation was officially handed over by Peter Sebothoma, Managing Director of IX Engineers at the Civic Center in Tzaneen.
The school shoes will be distributed to children in need across all 35 wards of the municipality. This donation follows Mayor Molapisane’s success earlier this year when he secured over 350 pairs of shoes during the Back to School Campaign in January. Those shoes were distributed to various schools in the municipality.
Mayor Molapisane is well known for spearheading a wide range of charitable initiatives, which not only include donations of school shoes but also extend to providing blankets, wheelchairs, walking aids, and even fully furnished homes to families in need.
Earlier this year, Mayor Molapisane assisted 79 students register In tertiary institutions through the Municipal Student Financial Aid Scheme(MSFAS)
"We are committed to ensuring that every child, no matter their background, has the opportunity to succeed in their education," said Mayor Molapisane. "This partnership with IX Engineers is a testament to how collaboration between the private sector and local government can make a real difference in our communities."
The distribution of the shoes will begin in the coming weeks, with local ward councillors coordinating the effort to ensure that the donations reach those in greatest need.
